Tips on Caring for Your Hammock Swing or Chair
Although they require very little maintenance, there are some things you can do to keep your hammock in good shape:
1. Hanging them in shade is usually best as the rope and varnish will last longer without constant exposure to sunlight.
2. For rope hammocks, all that’s required to clean them is soapy water. Lay it out on concrete or a deck and use a garden hose and mild detergent. Make sure to rinse out soap completely before allowing to dry. Simple!
3. If there is wood on your hammock, time and use will eventually start to show. A simple re-finish is all that is needed to bring new life back to the wood.
4. If metal parts come with your hammock and you notice wear on those, visit your local hardware store and buy matching paint made specifically for metal. A quick spray will touch it up nicely.
Not only are hammocks great for recreational use but many people are giving up their traditional beds and replacing them with hammocks. That’s right! It turns out there are many fantastic benefits from regularly sleeping in a hammock:
