These beautiful Korean actresses are providing quality entertainment while at the same time exposing the nation to Korean culture and contributing significantly to the Korean economy.

LEE DA-HAELEE DA-HAE

Fluent in several languages, Lee Da-Hae is well-known for her dramatic roles in Korean films. She appeared in My Girl, Green Rose, The Slave Hunters and Miss Ripley among others. She spoke fluent Mandarin in her appearance in the Chinese version of Dae Jang Geum. This lead to her becoming quite popular in China. She is the first Korean actress to speak Mandarin in a film. She got her start by winning the 71st Miss Chunhyang Pageant in 2001. From then on, she’s continued to gain success as an actress in both romantic comedy and drama.

HA JI-WONha-ji-won

With the talent to play roles in drama, action, sports-related and comedy, Ha Ji-Won is one of the most sought after actresses in Korea. She began gaining popularity after her performance in a film called School 2. She is an exceptionally versatile and talented actress who has won many awards from Busan Film Critics, MBC Drama, Korean Visual Arts and Blue Dragon Films to name just a few. Not only is she an actress who’s appeared in twenty-three films and fifteen television series, she’s also a recording artist who has recorded two digital singles and appeared in numerous music videos. SHIN MIN-ASHIN MIN-A

Shin began her career as a model in 1998 for a teen magazine. From there she appeared in music videos until she got her acting break in 2001 in a melodrama titled Beautiful Days. It was only a supporting role but it was enough to get her noticed. Since that time, she’s appeared in twelve films and seven television shows. She’s also appeared in thirteen music videos. In addition, she’s a recording artist and has had much success with brand endorsements including Calvin Klein and LG 3D. Her achievements include awards from Korean Film Awards, SBS Drama Awards, Dior Timeless Beauty award and the 11th Seoul International Drama Awards among many others.

JUN JI-HYUNJUN JI-HYUN

Having starred in the highest grossing Korean film of all time, My Sassy Girl, is what launched Jun’s career. Her other works include film roles in II Mare, Wind Struck, The Thieves and a television series titled My Love from the Star. She’s appeared in twelve films and six television programs. She’s also been a part of four music videos. Her awards include Best New Actress from Baeksang Arts Awards, Best Actress from Grand Bell, a Grand Prize from SBS Drama Awards and the President’s Award from 6th Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards.

YOON EUN-HYEYOON EUN-HYE

Yoon is a versatile talent. She’s an actress, singer, producer, director and model. Her debut came while she was a member of Baby V.O.X., an all-girl group. From there she moved into acting and has become well-known for her television drama appearances. Her movie debut happened in a film titled The Legend of Seven Cutter. She’s starred in ten dramas, five films and has directed a short film called The Knitting. Awards she’s won include Best New Actress, Best New Actress in TV, Top Excellence Award, Popularity Award and Global Best Drama Actress.

KIM SO-EUNKIM SO-EUN

While Kim had appeared in several television shows, it was a drama called Boys Over Flowers that launched Kim to fame. She’s appeared in a total of seventeen television programs plus four variety shows and eight films. She’s also had roles in six music videos. Her achievements include several Best New Actress awards, a Popular Culture award, New Star of the Year and two Best Couple awards with co-stars. Kim has participated competitively in skiing and snowboarding. She’s also actively involved with charity work and for the Korean Youth Film Festival served as a goodwill ambassador. Her product endorsements include Clean and Clear, Samsung Anycall, Clinique Cosmetics and Maxim Coffee to name but a few.

PARK MIN-YOUNGPARK MIN-YOUNG

Park’s career began in an SK Telecom commercial in 2005 but it was a sitcom titled Unstoppable High Kick that set off her acting career. For several years afterward she continued to gain success and with the release of Sungkyunkwan Scandal she earned her big breakthrough. She’s appeared in thirteen television series, one film titled The Cat and three music videos. She won a modeling award with the Asia Model Festival and has since earned Best Actress in a Comedy/Sitcom, Best New Actress, several Excellence awards and a Fashion Artist award among others. She’s currently set to appear in a new Chinese television drama called “City of Time.”

HAN HYO-JOOHAN HYO-JOO

Han has performed in the television dramas Brilliant Legacy and Dong Yi, however; it was a film titled Cold Eyes that earned her a Best Actress award from the 34th Blue Dragon Film Awards.  She’s also appeared in the Japanese market starring in the film Miracle: Debikuro-kun no Koi to Maho. Park is an accomplished actress, singer and model who has been named on Forbes’ “40 Most Powerful Celebrities” list. It was a Korean drama titled Stairway to Heaven where she made her debut and she’s continued to gain much success in all of her endeavors. It is her beauty, skills and kind heart that earned her the honor of being chosen “Nation’s Little Sister.”  She’s committed to charity work, as well. She has appeared in many television series, films, variety shows, music videos and documentaries. Her accolades include awards for Best Young Actress, Best Newcomer in a Variety Show, a New Star award, Most Popular Actress and a Fantasia award to name but a few. She’s currently working on a new film project but the release date has yet to be announced.
